Chartered in April of 1985, with its first Ball in 1986, Krewe de la Noblesse is a social organization which celebrates the traditional New Orleans Style of Mardi Gras. The by-invitation membership is limited to 200 married and single members. The Krewe takes great pride in promoting Mardi Gras and contributing to establishing Lake Charles as a Mardi Gras area second only to New Orleans.
Krewe de la Noblesse actively participates in many annual Greater Lake Charles activities such as the Krewe of Krewes and Children’s Parades, Twelfth Night, Gala, and Gumbo Cook-off.
The highlight of the season is a formal Ball, crowning a new King and Queen and new Dukes and Duchesses each year. Achieving a higher than average standard, the Ball is a black tie function with 1,000 or more members and guests in attendance. Royalty are regaled in extravagantly ornate theme oriented costumes.
Other yearly Krewe functions include an Informal Summer Social, Ladies Night out for members and guests, Krewe Royality Dinner, Informal Quarterly Birthday Dinners, and Fall Social consisting of a semiformal dance for married members and single members and escorts.
